Kalinga War was fought in what is now India between the Maurya Empire

and north of Andhra Pradesh.

-Ashoka defeated the king of Kalinga.
·
–Ashoka embraced Buddhism and preached
during the rest of his life after this war.

4.Second Battle of
Tarain 1192 ईसवी –

Ghori defeated Prithvi Raj
Chauhan.

-Ghori’s
victory paved the way for the establishment of Muslim rule in India.
5.First Battle of
Panipat 1526-

The
First Battle of Panipat, on 21 April 1526, was fought between the invading
forces of Babur and the Lodi Kingdom.

-Babur defeated Ibrahim Lodhi.
·
This
laid the foundation of the Mughal
rule in India.
6.Battle of Khanwah
1527-

Battle of Khanwa was fought between the invading forces of the first Mughal Emperor Babur and the Rajput
forces led by Rana Sanga of Mewar, after the
Battle of Panipat.

-Babar defeated Rana Sanga of Mewar.
·
-This
battle resulted in the defeat of the powerful Rajput confederacy.
7.Battle of
Chanderi 1528-
·
-The
Battle of Chanderi took place in the aftermath of the Battle of Khanwa in which
the Mughal Emperor Babur had defeated a confederacy of Rajputs and Afghans which was
headed by Rana Sanga of Mewar.

Babur captured the Fortress of
Chanderi.
8.Battle of Ghaghra
1529-

-The
Battle of Ghaghra, fought in 1529, was a major battle for the conquest of India
by the Mughal Empire.

-The
forces of now Emperor Zahir ud-Din Muhammad Babur of the emerging Mughal Empire were joined by Indian allies in
battle against the
Eastern Afghan Confederates under Sultan Mahmud Lodi and Sultanate of Bengal under Sultan Nusrat Shah.

-Babur
defeated and dispersed the Afghans.
9.Battle of Chausa
1539-

Battle of Chausa was a notable military engagement between the Mughal emperor, Humayun, and the Afghan, Sher Shah Suri.

this battle Humayun was defeated.

-It
facilitated Sher Khan to march on to Delhi and Agra.
10.Battle of
Kannauj 1540-

–Sher Shah Suri defeated Humayun.
·
-After
this battle, Humayun fled to Iran and Sher Shah Suri
occupied Delhi.
11.Battle of Tughlaqabad
(Battle of Delhi) 1556
·
The
Battle of Tughlaqabad was a notable battle fought between Hemu, the general and chief minister of Adil Shah Suri, and the forces of the Mughal led by Tardi Beg
Khan at
Tughlaqabad near Delhi.
·
-The
battle ended in a decisive victory for Hemu who took possession of Delhi and
claimed royal status, assuming the title of “Raja Vikramaditya”.
12.Second Battle of
Panipat 1556-
·
-The
Second Battle of Panipat was fought on November 5, 1556, between the forces of Hem Chandra Vikramaditya, the Hindu king at
Delhi and forces of Muslim invader Akbar.
·
–Bairam Khan (Akbar’s General) defeated
Hemu (the Hindu General
and right-hand man of Mohd. Adil Shah).
·
-It
also ended the Afghan Rule and Mughal Rule began instead.
13.Battle of
Talikota 1565-
·
-United
alliance between Bijapur, Bidar, Ahmednagar and Golkonda under Hussain Nizam Shah defeated Ram Raja of Vijayanagar.
·
-It destroyed the Hindu Kingdom of
Vijayanagar.
